Jahlil Okafor remains a free agent, a disconcerting fact for his fans, considering that it was only in 2015 when the big man was a No. 3 pick by the Philadelphia 76ers. Today, the former Duke Blue Devils star is unemployed, and if he ever gets an offer, it’s likely going to be worth the minimum or close to it.

Still, the important thing for Okafor is to find an NBA home, irrespective of which team he would play for.

According to Sean Deveney of Sporting News, there were four NBA teams that worked out the 6-foot-11 center on Wednesday, and that’s good news for Okafor’s chances of getting back in the big league.

According to sources, Okafor, the No. 3 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, worked out for four teams last Wednesday in Las Vegas, and remains hopeful of signing with a team ahead of training camp next fall.

Okafor, who also has drawn interests from the Chicago Bulls and the Indiana Pacers this summer, spent parts of last season riding the bench of the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets. It was also reported that he has no plans of returning to Brooklyn.

He will not be back with the Nets, the last team for which he played, a source said.

The 22-year-old Okafor has appeared in only two games for the Sixers before he was mercifully traded to the Nets with Nik Stauskas and a second-round pick for Trevor Booker in December.

Okafor did see some playing time in Brooklyn but did not impress. He averaged just 6.4 points and 2.9 rebounds in 26 games for the Nets.
