Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins believes that the Los Angeles Lakers should pursue Dwight Howard instead of Joakim Noah.

The Lakers are looking for a replacement for DeMarcus Cousins, who is likely to miss the entire 2018-19 NBA season after sustaining a torn ACL.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Los Angeles is set to have workouts with Howard and Noah to gauge if they are a good fit to the current Lakers roster.

But if Perkins would have it his way, he wants the Lakers to sign Howard because he is a better fit than Noah. The one-time NBA champion center added that Noah is more suited for rejigged new-look Utah Jazz squad.

“I’m going to say this again the Lakers need a big that’s a dynamic roller to the basket and that’s a lob threat at the rim, a rebounder, and shot blocker and people can say what they want but the best fit is Dwight Howard,” Perkins said. “I like Noah but he would be a better fit in Utah.”

The Lakers are one of the favorites to win the title next season after pairing LeBron James with fellow superstar Anthony Davis.

Aside from Davis, Los Angeles also added two-time champion Danny Green, Quinn Cook, Avery Bradley, and Jared Dudley to bolster their supporting cast next season.
