Bam Adebayo and LeBron James have been named the NBA Players of the Week for Week 8 of the 2019-20 season.

Adebayo averaged 20.0 points, 11.3 rebounds and 8.7 assists as the Miami Heat went 2-1. James, meanwhile, averaged 28.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and 9.7 assists as the Los Angeles Lakers went 3-0.

The Heat are 19-7 on the season. They have the second-best record in the East. Adebayo is averaging 15.2 points, 10.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists on the season. He's shooting 58.4 percent from the field and 65.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Adebayo, 22, has 16 double-doubles and two triple-doubles. The Heat have themselves a franchise big man.

LeBron and the Lakers are cruising through the season. Now that he's healthy, James is playing like an MVP again. The King is averaging 26.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 10.7 assists while shooting 50.2 percent from the field, 36.5 percent from beyond the arc and 68.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The Lakers are 24-3 on the season. They have the best record in the Western Conference and are tied with the Milwaukee Bucks for the best record in the NBA.

With LeBron and Anthony Davis leading the way, the Lakers have a great chance at winning the title this season. No one wants to see LeBron and Davis in a seven-game playoff series.
