The NBA announced Monday that LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers and LaMarcus Aldridge of the San Antonio Spurs were named Players of the Week, per the league's PR relayed by ClutchPoints' Tomer Azarly.

James led the Cavaliers to a 4-0 record from March 19-25 while averaging 34.8 points and 11.0 assists per game. Aldridge averaged 34.8 and 9.3 rebounds per game over that stretch. The Spurs went 3-1.

It's difficult to keep track of how many of these James has won. It seems as though he wins Player of the Week every week. Aldridge, on the other hand, won the honor for only the 10th time in his entire career, per Spurs.com.

In a way, both the Spurs and the Cavaliers need James and Aldridge to play like they did last week for the rest of the season. They are fighting for playoff positioning, and each team has key injuries that force James and Aldridge to perform on a night-in-night-out basis.

The Player of the Week award is quite an honor, but even more of a big deal is the award given out at the end of each month. That accolade is coming, and James is likely win that one for the Eastern Conference with how we'll he's played as of late with the Cavaliers having injures to so many rotation players.

It remains to be seen if Aldridge can win Player of the Month. That honor will likely go to James Harden of the Houston Rockets, who now have a solid lead for the best record in the Western Conference and good overtake the Toronto Raptors for best in the league.

For now, James and Aldridge deserve all the praise from the rest of the NBA.
