It's safe to say NBA legend and Hall of Famer Paul Pierce didn't enjoy his time at ESPN, particularly the fact that he had to talk about Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James all the time.

Pierce had a rather unceremonious exit from ESPN, getting fired from the network after livestreaming himself drinking and smoking with exotic dancers last April. While it was not a good look for the Boston Celtics icon, he said he was leaving anyway since he thought it “wasn't a great fit.”

Not to mention that he's not a big fan of discussing everything LeBron when he was still with the network and covering the NBA.

“I was done with them, anyway,” Pierce told Sports Illustrated. “It wasn’t a great fit. There’s a lot of stuff over there that you can’t say. And you have to talk about LeBron all the time.”

The strained relationship between Paul Pierce and ESPN aside, the NBA icon's complaint on talking about LeBron James in almost every segment is understandable. After all, they had a rivalry of sorts during his playing days, and their match-ups had always been heated or competitive.

It's also worth noting that ESPN has been often trolled on social media for the frequency of their LeBron posts. It's only natural for sports websites to capitalize on James' popularity as one of the best players in the NBA, but it has led to people from poking fun at the network for seemingly milking it in every way they can.

Fortunately for Pierce, he doesn't have to deal with that anymore–something that he clearly hated doing.
