The Memphis Grizzlies will host the Sacramento Kings at FedExForum on Friday night. It’s time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Kings-Grizzlies prediction and pick.

This will be the second game in consecutive nights between these two clubs. Memphis defeated the Kings by six points in Thursday night's affair. The Grizzlies will now look for the sweep as they defeated the Kings by 14 points back in February as well.

Here’s how sportsbooks have set the Kings-Grizzlies odds.

NBA Odds: Kings-Grizzlies Odds

Sacramento Kings +6 (-106)

Memphis Grizzlies -6 (-114)

Over 226.5 Points (-110)

Under 226.5 Points (-110)

Why The Kings Could Cover The Spread

At 31-39 in 2021, the Kings have been officially eliminated from postseason contention. Sacramento has actually been trending upward as the season comes to a close, though. The Kings are 7-3 in their last 10 games with recent wins against the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers. They've been stringing together wins despite the absence of leading scorer De'Aaron Fox.

Sacramento has been finding key contributions down the line. The leading scorer on Thursday was Justin James off the bench. James scored a career-high 31 points in the loss. The Kings have been shooting fairly well from deep lately and knocked down 41.5% of their long balls against the Grizzlies.

The Kings have played well on the road this season, going 20-15 ATS in their 35 games away from home. They've seen vast improvements on the defensive end lately, which is the main reason they've played this well down the stretch. Sacramento is 4-1 ATS in its last five games and will try to finish this season on a high note, even with a play-in berth no longer a possibility.

Why The Grizzlies Could Cover The Spread

The Grizzlies have clinched their play-in birth and will now look to pass the Golden State Warriors for the eighth seed in the Western Conference. The significance of that eighth spot is that it creates a win-and-in situation in the play-in tournament. As it stands right now, Memphis is set to host the San Antonio Spurs in the first play-in game. The Grizzlies will play the Warriors to finish the season after this game against the Kings, so this game against Sacramento actually means nothing. It all comes down to that final game, though it would still be nice to keep the hot streak going.

Memphis is currently on a four-game winning streak, which includes three straight wins at home. The Grizzlies shot an even 50% from the floor and 33.3% from deep in the last win against Sacramento. Dillon Brooks led the way with 30 points in the victory. Jonas Valanciunas added an impressive double-double with 24 points on 8-of-10 shooting and 13 rebounds. Ja Morant had a productive all-around performance with 12 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds to round out a solid team outing.

Final Kings-Grizzlies Prediction & Pick

In a game that means nothing, look for a disparity in sheer will. The Grizzlies could rest guys ahead of the Warriors showdown, but the team is still relatively healthy and riding a heat wave. Memphis is 41-28-1 ATS this season, and I expect them to pick up another comfortable cover at home. I respect the Kings' determination to finish the season strong, but the Grizzlies are just a more talented team overall.

FINAL PICK: Memphis Grizzlies -6 (-114)
