The Indiana Pacers will pay a visit to Barclays Center to face the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday. With that said, it’s a good time to check out our NBA odds series, which includes our Pacers-Nets prediction, odds, and pick we have laid out below.

Indiana lost its penultimate game of the season early on Saturday to the Philadelphia 76ers, 133-120. Oshae Brisset led the Pacers with 20 points. Tyrese Haliburton scored 19 points to go along with nine assists as seven total Pacers scored in double figures. This upcoming game against Brooklyn marks the end of a franchise-changing season for Indiana, which has seen them go into a rebuild.

Meanwhile, the Nets grabbed the No. 7 seed from the Cleveland Cavaliers in their last outing, winning 118-107. Kevin Durant led Brooklyn with 36 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Bruce Brown almost notched a triple-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists, while Kyrie Irving added 18 points of his own. The Nets look to end their season on a high note and lock up the No. 7 seed in the East with a win.

Why the Pacers could cover the spread

This is a massive 16-point spread, so there is a good chance the Pacers cover this one. For what it's worth, they were able to cover the 14-point spread against Philadelphia on Saturday. They have a 36-42 record against the spread.

Indiana did lose by just eight points in the most recent encounter between these two teams, which was in January. That was also one of the few games in which Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden played in the same game. Of course, that was prior to the trade deadline, so the Pacers still had Domantas Sabonis instead of Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield. Nonetheless, that's a game worth looking at to consider how to approach this bet.

Indiana has yet to turn in its injury report. Nonetheless, Goga Bitadze (foot) and Jalen Smith (groin), who were both questionable prior to Saturday versus the Sixers, both sat out. Malcolm Brogdon was also listed as questionable, but ultimately did not suit up. It's unlikely he takes the court against Brooklyn, and there's a big possibility he won't don a Pacers uniform next season as the organization is reportedly exploring trade options for the 2016-17 Rookie of the Year.

Why the Nets could cover the spread

The Nets have every reason to win their season finale because it would assure them of the seventh seed and home-court advantage in their play-in game. With that said, Brooklyn could look to put this away early and blow a tanking Pacers squad out of the park. They are certainly capable of doing so, with all-time scorers like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving leading the squad against a relatively inexperienced Indiana team.

The Pacers have also given up the most points in the NBA since March 1, while the Nets have scored the fifth-most points in the league in that same stretch. That's usually a recipe for a blowout. Brooklyn, however, is just 32-44 against the spread this season.

The Nets won't have Goran Dragic for this one due to health and safety protocols. Meanwhile, Seth Curry is probable due to left ankle soreness.

Final PacersNets prediction and pick

With a 16-point spread, it might be safer to go with Indiana on this one. The Nets haven't been blowing teams out, even those they should be romping. They beat Detroit by just seven a couple of weeks ago and then Houston by 13 earlier this week.

Final PacersNets Prediction & Pick: Pacers: +16 (-110)
