Why The Rockets Can Cover The Spread
The Houston Rockets have been awful this season as they are last in the NBA as a whole. However, they did get a win in their last game out, snapping a five-game losing streak. The Rockets are having trouble finding wins to begin with, let alone against a playoff-bound team in the Mavericks tonight. Offensively, the Rockets are actually better than one would expect, ranking 18th in the league in scoring, thanks to their young talent up front. However, defensively, the Rockets are ranked last in the league in scoring defense, along with struggling on the generating second-chance opportunities. With nothing to play for except for pride, the Rockets could possibly find momentum and pull off the upset if they really put their minds to it.
Why The Mavericks Can Cover The Spread
The Dallas Mavericks are off to another great season but building momentum towards the playoffs is their main concern right now as they look to get over the hump. The Mavs have won seven of their last ten games overall and a game against the Rockets is a perfect opportunity for them to gain more momentum before playoffs begin. Superstar Luka Doncic (ankle) will remain out for this game, but it shouldn't stop the Mavericks from getting a win tonight.
