Monday night will showcase a great Western Conference matchup! The Los Angeles Clippers host the rising Phoenix Suns in LA. It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Suns-Clippers prediction and pick based on Suns Clippers odds.

Phoenix is dominating the NBA right now. If it weren't for Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors, the Suns would have more than just a half-game lead in the NBA standings at 21-4. The Suns are 14-4 against Western Conference opponents and will undoubtedly finish the season with one of the better records in the league. They haven't lost to an Eastern Conference team this season which is a great sign.

LA is on a three-game winning streak and is 10-10 against the West. Their 15-12 record is good for fifth place in the West and Paul George is leading the charge. He's averaging 25 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.9 steals on the year. He is in the MVP conversation this year and he'll continue to be if he can lead the Clippers to a top seed in the competitive West.

Here is how FanDuel set the line for Monday night.

NBA Odds: Suns-Clippers Odds

Phoenix Suns: -3 (-114)

Los Angeles Clippers: +3 (-106)

Over: 210.5 (-114)

Under: 210.5 (-108)

Why The Suns Could Cover The Spread

The Suns are going to be without Devin Booker and possibly Deandre Ayton Monday night. Missing those two is crucial for the Suns but they are winning games anyway. Chris Paul is taking over and leading the team. They have plenty of solid depth to compete with anyone and that is going to be the factor once again against the Clippers. This game is a rematch of the Western Conference Finals last year and if everyone was healthy, it could be the matchup to watch once again.

Oddly enough, the Suns are just 12-12 against the spread this year. The NBA is difficult to predict on a spread because of how close any game could be. Any shot can hit so you must be careful when deciding. Even the top team in the NBA doesn't guarantee you money. If the Suns are to cover this spread, they will need to step their defense up Monday night because the Clippers are playing very well lately.

Why The Clippers Could Cover The Spread

The last three games should show why the Clippers could cover this spread. Although, they will be without George once again. They defeated the Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics, and Portland Trail Blazers in close games. Without George, Reggie Jackson is averaging over 17 points a game in his last 10 games. The defense is what the Clippers need to focus on, however. They are giving up more points per game than they are scoring, and that is a big problem. Missing Kawhi Leonard obviously hurts, but they still have very good defensive-minded players.

LA is 12-14 against the spread this year so it will also be a tough one to choose. The Suns are 9-1 in their last 10 games so the Clippers know what is at stake. They are allowing five points less than the Clippers so if the LA wants a chance they will need to step up on both sides of the court. They need to take advantage of the fact that Booker and possibly Ayton could be out. But it's going to be very difficult for the Clippers without their two stars.

Final Suns-Clippers Prediction & Pick

This game is missing all its firepower. With that being said, I'm taking the first-place Suns to beat the empty-handed Clippers. Without George, the Clippers aren't going to be able to compete. This game should honestly be a blowout.

Final Suns-Clippers Prediction & Pick: Suns -3 (-114)
