Why The Suns Could Cover The Spread
The Phoenix Suns are the most improved team in the league this season. Their record against the spread leads the league as the Suns have covered in 28 of 41 games in 2021. Phoenix is riding a hot streak as well, going 3-1 in their last four games. They're coming off a seventeen point victory against the depleted Lakers and look to ride the momentum into this even matchup with the Heat.
Phoenix has been playing so well as a team all year. The addition of Chris Paul has really catapulted this team to contender status. He is getting the best out of this young core and the depth is helping keep Paul healthy down the stretch. Going 16-4 ATS in their last twenty, the Phoenix Suns are a serious threat on any given night. They are top-10 in almost every statistical category and may have the health advantage on Tuesday night. The key difference maker will be the status of Goran Dragic, who has a clear impact on his teams success.
Why The Heat Could Cover The Spread
Coming off of a championship appearance in 2020, the Miami Heat have been a great story in 2021. They came out of the gate extremely cold, but have been scorching hot of late. Before their current three-game losing streak, the Heat had won eleven of their last twelve games. The current losing skid has been tough as two of the three games have been decided by single digits. Their last loss against the Pacers was especially tough.
With the absence of Goran Dragic, the offense never seemed to be able get into a rhythm. In the loss to the Pacers, Miami shot 40% from the field and 24% from three. That's a clear indication that their facilitator is key to their offensive success. The defense is another story as the Heat have played terrific on that end of the floor all year long. We're hoping that the offense can see a boost on Tuesday night as they've been slightly better on their home court. With Dragic hopefully back in the lineup and the fact that Miami is 5-1 SU in their last six against western conference opponents, the Heat are in a prime bounce back spot against the Suns.

I see real bounce back potential for Miami in this game. They've been really good since the start of February and are eager to get the train back on the proper tracks. I don't see that happening tonight against a hot Suns team, though. Phoenix has played incredible basketball of late and has the clear advantage in all aspects of this game. The Suns have been scoring at a frenetic pace and locking down teams all season. They've covered in almost 70% of their games in 2021 and their formula for success is consistently effective. Expect a strong battle in an almost playoff-type atmosphere, with the Suns coming out the victor.
