The Atlanta Hawks will look to close out the series as they host the Philadelphia 76ers for Game 6 of this best-of-seven series. It’s time to continue our NBA Playoffs odds series and make a 76ers-Hawks Game 6 prediction and pick.

The Atlanta Hawks took a 3-2 series lead with an improbable win in Game 5. The Hawks erased a double-digit halftime lead for the second consecutive game. Atlanta closed out Game 5 on a 48 to 21 run as they defeated the 76ers by three points in Philadelphia. They will now look to complete the series in Atlanta and move on to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Here’s how sportsbooks have set the opening 76ers-Hawks Game 6 odds.

NBA Odds: 76ers-Hawks Game 6 Odds

Philadelphia 76ers -3 (-110)

Atlanta Hawks +3 (-110)

Over 221.5 Points (-110)

Under 221.5 Points (-110)

Why The 76ers Could Cover The Spread

The Philadelphia 76ers are imploding at the worst possible time. After blowing a double-digit lead in Game 4, the 76ers came out firing in Game 5 and led by double-digits at halftime. They were up by 24 points with two minutes remaining in the third quarter. Philadelphia was playing very well on both sides of the ball and if they could've sustained that level of production in the fourth, they would've won by 30+.

Unfortunately for Philadelphia, the Hawks came roaring in the fourth quarter and never looked back. The 76ers inefficiencies showed as Joel Embiid and Seth Curry were the only players to hit a shot from the field in the second half. The second-half performance from this club at the Wells Fargo Center has to have 76ers worried sick heading into Game 6.

There were two positive takeaways from the disastrous defeat. Joel Embiid and Seth Curry did all that they could to close that game out. Embiid collected a double-double with 37 points and 13 rebounds. He also added two steals and four blocks in a dominant performance. Seth Curry was red-hot from the perimeter as he dropped 36 points on seven-of-12 shooting from deep. If Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris don't bounce back in Game 6, Philadelphia's season will likely end on Friday night.

Why The Hawks Could Cover The Spread

The Atlanta Hawks are continuing to exceed expectations as they are now one win away from the Eastern Conference Finals. Nate McMillan has to be absolutely thrilled with his teams level of effort in the miraculous Game 5 comeback victory. This young and inexperienced club is playing at an extremely high level with absolutely nothing to lose.

Superstar point guard Trae Young continues to show us why he's got next in this league. Young went off in Game 5 for 39 points and seven assists. His ability to draw fouls is second to none as Young went 17-of-19 from the charity stripe in Game 5. Young has been phenomenal during this postseason, but his counterparts aren't getting enough credit for their efforts as well.

John Collins has proven to be a dominant player in the clutch as well. Collins delivered a double-double performance in Game 5 with 19 points and 11 boards. Danilo Gallinari and Lou Williams added 31 combined points off the bench, which is a testament to the Hawks elite depth. Atlanta has seen all of this success despite their struggles from the perimeter, which certainly won't last.

Final 76ers-Hawks Game 6 Prediction & Pick

I have a tremendous amount of respect for the Atlanta Hawks and what they've been able to accomplish this far. They are up 3-2 in this series for a reason. The Hawks are an extremely talented and well-coached young club. They have all of the tools to continue making noise in this postseason and I expect them to bring the fight to Philadelphia in this crucial Game 6. With that being said, I do expect the 76ers to bounce back and finally close a game out. Philadelphia has outplayed Atlanta for the majority of the past two games and I would be shocked if this elite group allows a debacle of that nature to occur three-straight times. I see the 76ers coming out strong and continuing to limit Atlanta's production from the perimeter.

FINAL PICK: Philadelphia 76ers -3 (-110)
