After the previous departure of James Harden from the Houston Rockets, it has become increasingly apparent that veteran forward P.J. Tucker will be one of the cards who will be dealt next. Despite failing to find a new home, the former Texas standout remains to be a hot commodity in the market to this day, particularly garnering interest from the Milwaukee Bucks who are still intent on acquiring his services in the near future.

Via Kevin O' Connor of The Ringer:

“League sources told me in November that the Bucks were in pursuit of P.J. Tucker from the Rockets. Their interest remains unchanged today.”

Tucker is only averaging 4.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists through 26 games played as a starter for the Rockets this season. Despite his meager averages, he continues to make an impact on the floor with his ability to match up and hold his own against bigger opponents.

Meanwhile, the Bucks are also in need of a player who could come off the bench and provide a spark on both ends of the floor. Their desire to have a valuable contributor has grown in the past few days as veteran guard Jrue Holiday continues to miss action due to COVID-19 concerns. Although P.J. Tucker may have already lost his luster in recent years, the veteran can still provide leadership for the younger guys on Milwaukee's roster.

Unfortunately, the Bucks only have limited assets available at their disposal as they already shipped most of them away in the trade for Holiday during the offseason. They may have to deal a couple of bench players in exchange for P.J. Tucker or wait long enough for him to become a free agent this coming offseason.

Despite only having a few options on the board, the Bucks will certainly look to acquire savvy veterans like P.J. Tucker who can come in and complement Giannis Antetokounmpo in their bid to compete against the other powerhouses in the league moving forward.
