As the NBA season progresses, trade rumors are heating up around the league with a notable Sacramento Kings player coming up in multiple reports: Nemanja Bjelica.

According to Sam Amick in The Athletic:

Nemanja Bjelica has been out of [Luke] Walton’s rotation since Jan. 9 and appears likely to be on the move. The Sixers, who have long been tied to [Buddy] Hield in terms of interest, are known to be among the teams who are considering the 32-year-old forward who has shot 39 percent from three-point range in his six seasons.

Then, Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee provided context on another team showing interest in Bjelica:

Two Eastern Conference playoff contenders are believed to have interest in the veteran big man, one that went to the NBA Finals last season and another that hopes to get there this season. One of those teams is the Miami Heat, a club that can absorb Bjelica’s contract using its $7.6 million trade exception, a league source told The Sacramento Bee.

For the Sixers, Bjelica had actually reached a verbal agreement to play with them during the 2018 offseason, but he reneged on the deal to sign a three-year, $20.5 million deal with the Kings—causing Philly fans much consternation at the time.

Bjelica would definitely make for a great fit in Philly as his shooting and overall polished play would serve the East-leading Sixers well.

He joins Kings veteran forward Harrison Barnes as another member of the Western Conference club on East playoff teams' collective radar.

The Serbian big man shot a career-high 41.9 percent from downtown last season on 4.4 attempts a game—it’s no wonder that multiple playoff teams have an interest.
