Bojan Bogdanovic thinks the Brooklyn Nets are better than anyone else does.

Bogdanovic recently spoke with the New York Post and revealed this surprising prediction for the Nets next season.

Via The New York Post:

“I think we can (make the playoffs),’’ Bogdanovic told the Post. “They can write what they want. … But we’re going to work hard to give it our best. When we get in a game, we have a chance to beat anybody. It’s going to be tough, but if we play like we practice, we have a chance.”

We all expect athletes to be confident but the Nets won just 21 games last year and didn't exactly have a great offseason. Just say you hope the team gets better because the playoffs are quite the long shot.

The Nets had an incredible amount of turnover this summer, most notably trading away Thaddeus Young and acquiring Jeremy Lin. Not a ton to rationalize improving enough to suddenly become a playoff team.

Bogdanovic, meanwhile, had a successful summer representing Croatia in the Rio Olympics. He was one of the best players on that team, which made a strong run.

“It was a great experience to be in Rio. … and to see all the great athletes like [Usain] Bolt and Serena Williams, to be in the same building with all my fellow athletes for Croatia,” Bogdanovic said. “It was a great experience for all of us on the national team, because nobody expected us to even be in Rio.

“In the national team, many guys quit, did not want to play, and we had a really young team, and we changed the coach. Many things happened for us. Then we started to play much better, the coach give me a green light. That’s why I played good basketball this summer.”

Maybe Bogdanovic is right and the Nets will be a playoff team next season. He's just the only one predicting that right now.
