The Brooklyn Nets have one of the most promising collection of young guys in the league right now. The front office certainly recognizes this fact, and Monday they announced they have picked up the team options of two of their most talented prospects in Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allen.

LeVert's option is for his fourth season, while Allen's is for his third season.

LeVert was drafted 20th overall in 2016 by the Indiana Pacers. A couple of weeks later, he was traded to the Nets along with a second-round pick in exchange for Thaddeus Young. After a so-so rookie campaign, the 6-foot-7 shooting guard had a mini breakout year last season. In his sophomore year, he upped his numbers in almost all statistical categories, averaging 12.1 points, 1.2 3-pointers, 3.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 steals.

As for Allen, the Nets used their 22nd overall pick in last year's draft to scoop up the promising 6-foot-11 big man. Despite playing only 20 minutes per game in his rookie year, the former Texas standout was still very impressive nonetheless. The 20-year-old's per-36 averages are simply off the charts with 14.7 points on 58.9 percent shooting, 9.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.7 steals, and 2.2 blocks.

The Nets are likely not exactly a playoff team just yet, but the future is definitely looking bright for the franchise. LeVert and Allen will play big roles as Brooklyn tries to take a big step forward this season after years of struggles.
