Brooklyn Nets showed gratitude to one of the best players to ever suit up for their franchise, when they hosted the Atlanta Hawks today.

The Nets paid tribute to Vince Carter with a video that they played in the titantron late in the first quarter.

Carter, 41, played five seasons with then New Jersey Nets. He averaged 23.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. He spent a significant amount of his prime as the franchise's star, together with Hall of Famer Jason Kidd.

One of the most electrifying dunkers of of all time, Carter is currently playing his 20th season in the league, The fifth overall pick of the 1998 NBA Draft has career averages of 17.4 points, 4.4 boards, and 3.2 assists.

Carter started his career with the Toronto Raptors, playing there for seven seasons. He had a fallout with the franchise and forced a trade that eventually sent him to the Nets.

Vinsanity also had stints with with the Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, Orlando Magic, Sacramento Kings, and Phoenix Suns.

The veteran forward has already stated on multiple occasions that he wants to play for one more year after this season, so he could end his career with the Raptors.

Serving as a mentor to the Hawks young core, Carter has averaged 7.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and an assist this season.
