Four-year NBA veteran Justin Anderson couldn't do enough to impress the Brooklyn Nets for the franchise to sign him after he signed a 10-day contract with the team earlier this month. Instead, the Nets will be letting Anderson's contract expire effectively releasing the 6-foot-6 wing per Michael Scotto of Bleacher Report. After releasing Anderson, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that Brooklyn will be giving a 10-day contract to a new player. This time, that player is 24-year-old French small forward Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot.

Anderson, who last season played for the Atlanta Hawks, competed in three games during his time as a Net. In those games, Anderson played in just 5.7 minutes per game but shot 1-6 from the field and 0-3 from the three-point line.

Luwawu-Cabarrot had been signed on a two-way deal with the Brooklyn Nets and their G-League affiliate in Long Island. With his 45-day limit as a two-way player expiring this week, Brooklyn decided to sign the former first-round pick to a 10-day deal.

The Frenchman had already appeared in 17 games this season for the Nets averaging 4.8 points and 2.4 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game. Brooklyn has marked Luwawu-Cabarrot's fifth team since being drafted in 2016.

In 10 G-League games, Luwawu-Cabarrot showed great potential putting up 19.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

Having lost nine of their last 11 games, Brooklyn is in a bit of a funk as a team. Still, at 18-22 on the season, the Nets are still technically in the playoff picture as the Eastern Conference's eighth seed.
