Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant admitted he thought about joining the New York Knicks, but never quite seriously considered making a move to Jim Dolan's franchise. The two-time Finals MVP went on EBRO In The Morning on HOT 97 to set the record straight:

“I thought about it, yeah,” said Durant. “Just a thought, but I didn't really do any deep, full analysis on the Knicks, no.”

Durant's entire 2018-19 season was plagued by hoopla of his potential move to the Knicks, something he was keenly aware of through the course of it all:

“Yeah, I heard it every day,” said Durant. “Even media in the Bay Area was talking about it every day. It was tough to dodge, but y'know, you can't control it.”

Even after his injury, the narrative of a potential move to the Knicks was still strong until days before the start of the free agency. The wind started to blow more toward the other side of the bridge, fanning rumors of a potential team-up with Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan in Brooklyn, which is what wound up happening after a sign-and-trade with the Golden State Warriors.

Durant doubled down on his choice to sit out the 2019-20 season to recover from his Achilles injury, hoping to be ready and at full strength for the 2020-21 season instead. The former scoring champ noted he's not doing anything different or trying to push his recovery, but rather taking this rehabilitation process day by day, as hard as that can be for him.
