Being the young team that they are (fourth youngest in the league), however, the rawness of the group seems to be quite evident again. They are now riding a three-game skid, all of which were due to poor performances in the fourth quarter.

Such mediocrity is a big part of the reason why the team and its fan base is getting more and more anxious to see the healing Zach LaVine (knee) finally return to the court. He has been out since February of 2017.

Head coach Fred Hoiberg offered news that shed light on their plans for the two-guard. Here's what Nick Friedell wrote on ESPN:

“Fred Hoiberg says Zach LaVine has had a few good practices in a row. He will continue working out with the Bulls this week. Then the Bulls' front office and medical staff will meet with LaVine over the weekend and they will decide what the next step will be as far as playing goes.”

Zach LaVine, along with Kris Dunn and the draft rights to Lauri Markkanen, were acquired from the Minnesota Timberwolves back in June for Jimmy Butler and the draft rights to Justin Patton.

Both Dunn and Markkanen have performed well for the Bulls, and Zach LaVine should be able to just as well. He showcased progress as a scorer last season with the Wolves, as he was putting up 18.9 points per game prior to tearing his ACL.
