Since the Chicago Bulls acquired guard Zach LaVine as part of the trade that sent Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves, there has been a lot of focus on his recovery from a torn ACL.

During the Bulls' Media Day on Monday, LaVine voiced much confidence in his rehab from the injury while stating that his physical ability has actually improved, according to Nick Friedell of ESPN.

This is encouraging news for the Bulls given that LaVine is expected to be one of the centerpieces that the organization will build around. The 22-year-old is coming off his most productive season where he averaged a career-high 18.9 points on 45.9 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Given the severity of the injury that he suffered, Chicago will take the precautionary route with LaVine with his recovery. He has shown plenty of potential to develop into an All-Star caliber talent that the team can build around.

Although LaVine isn't expected to be ready by the season opener, the steady progression in his recovery should be quite an encouraging sign moving forward for Chicago that could see him on the court sooner than expected.
