After serving his eight-game suspension, Bobby Portis will be able to suit up for the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday when they face the Toronto Raptors. The suspension stemmed from the scuffle he had with Nikola Mirotic before the season started, which caused two fractures on the 6-foot-10 forward’s face. It may be more than a month now since the unfortunate incident, but Mirotic is still not in constant communication with the team, and remains upset with them.
It has also been reported that Nikola Mirotic and his camp are not keen on having him share the court with Bobby Portis in the future, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. They apparently believe they cannot co-exist, which leaves the Bulls in a very difficult situation.

Mirotic remains upset enough over the disparity in time of absences that he has had little contact with teammates, and his camp has made clear to management that, for now, it doesn’t see a way the two forwards can coexist.”
“This is a tough dynamic to balance.”
Two weeks ago, multiple sources also shared news about Nikola Mirotic wanting the Bulls to choose between him and Bobby Portis. While the Bulls plan to continue having them both in their lineup, it now seems like the best option for them is trade either of them, with the former EuroLeague star most likely to be dealt, especially given his feelings towards the team.

It will be very interesting to see how things will unfold for him and the Bulls, and their situation is definitely something worth keeping an eye on. With Mirotic continuing to recover from the facial fractures he suffered, it buys the Bulls some time before they need to ultimately decide on his future.
