Ahead of his debut with the Chicago Bulls Saturday night against the San Antonio Spurs, Nikola Vucevic is already feeling in sync with his new teammates. Speaking with reporters two days after the Orlando Magic traded him to the Windy City, the All-Star center explained why there should be a short learning curve to adjusting to life with the Bulls.
“I think I can fit right in with the group of guys we have,” Vucevic told reporters, according to K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports. “I think my style of play fits as well. Talking to a lot of players and Coach Donovan, a lot of stuff he wants to run and how he wants to play and how he sees the game of basketball, I can fit right in. I enjoy playing the way that they play. I’ve watched them a lot. We played them when I was in Orlando and I felt they had a good team. So happy to be here, obviously excited. It’s going to take a little bit of time to adjust and for them to adjust to me but looking forward to this first game.”
While the Bulls gave up a treasure trove of assets to acquire the 10-year vet, the trade has been well received by observers, given the fact that Chicago can now pair Vucevic with Zach LaVine. With the franchise already a surprise contender for a spot in the playoffs owing to the breakout performance of LaVine, the possibility of employing the two in pick-and-pop action could provide the Bulls with one of the deadliest two-man games in the association.

Though Chicago will have to find a way to address the duo's defensive deficiencies–with each player individually ranking in the bottom half of the league in points per play, according to Synergy Sports–their scoring upside has the potential to propel the Bulls into a deep playoff run.
With the Orlando Magic going nowhere fast, it's no surprise to hear that Nikola Vucevic is eager to don a Bulls jersey.
