The Chicago Bulls are hoping to get healthy in time for the playoffs as they pursue the top seed in the Eastern Conference. While this mainly refers to sidelined role players Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso and Patrick Williams, this also refers to star shooting guard Zach LaVine.

Although LaVine has played in each of the Bulls' last three games, he is still dealing with a left knee issue that necessitated fluid draining. He admitted that his knee is not yet 100 percent ready, according to K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.

“I mean my knee isn’t 100 percent. That’s just the reality of it.

“You can go look at it from my game with Golden State on. I’m not going to be 100 percent the same way. Now can I still go out here and contribute? I can still do that, but it’s just something I’ve got to fight through until the end of the season. I’m not going to be a person that shuts it down. We’re having a great year. I’m having a good year, so I’m going to go out there and help my team anyway I can.

This season, LaVine is averaging 24.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 39.8 percent from deep. His production is huge for the Bulls and his willingness to play through pain is a great testament to his leadership.

Risking further injury for LaVine may not be a recipe for success for the Bulls. They have yet to play consistently well against top teams. This issue will rear its head in the playoffs and the Bulls will need all hands on deck to fix it.
