Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine has a sprained deltoid ligament in his ankle and will miss at least the next two games, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

Zach LaVine suffered the injury during Thursday's loss to the Orlando Magic in Mexico City. The high-flyer will consult some specialists and is in a walking boot.

LaVine played 40 minutes against the Magic and finished with 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field in the 97-91 loss.

The Bulls take on the San Antonio Spurs Saturday night and then the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday. It would be a shock to many if the team is able to win either of these two games without LaVine.

In 28 games this season for the Bulls, Zach LaVine is averaging 23.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game and shooting 45.0 percent from the field, 32.6 percent from beyond the arc and 86.9 percent from the free-throw line. The Bulls are 6-23 on the year, 15th place in the Eastern Conference.

The Bulls re-signed Zach LaVine this past summer to a $78 million deal and he is one of the franchise cornerstones along with second-year stretch forward Lauri Markkanen. In a rebuild season, Chicago would be wise to play it safe with LaVine and hold him out until he's 100 percent healthy and has no pain in his ankle.
