Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine is slated to miss the next two to four weeks with a left ankle injury, according to Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune.

LaVine already missed the last two games since hearing a “pop” after a loss to the Orlando Magic last Thursday. The 23-year-old claimed it was nothing and expected to be back from it relatively quickly, but a popping sound is usually never good in any sport, and the results seem to be aligning with that train of thought. He was recently diagnosed with a sprained deltoid ligament.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard is having a career year with averages of 23.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game, so the Bulls are unlikely to rush him back, especially considering they're tied with the Phoenix Suns for the worst record in the league at 7-24.

Chicago should use this opportunity to give rookie Chandler Hutchison more run during his absence, while starting point guard Kris Dunn and forward Lauri Markkanen will be expected to step up their scoring game.

Cameron Payne and Shaquille Harrison got their share of minutes during Monday's 25-point loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and could be in line for split minutes under coach Jim Boylen if more blowouts come in the near future. Ryan Arcidiacono also continues to play a big role in the backcourt as a starter.

Prior to his ankle injury, LaVine had appeared in 28 of the team's 29 games, leading the team in scoring and assists before Dunn returned to the lineup.
