Horace Grant continued to demolish the popular docuseries “The Last Dance,” this time taking umbrage on the depiction of his former teammate Scottie Pippen.
Pippen was criticized for his tenuous contract dispute with Chicago Bulls management, his decision to stall a back injury in the summer, and sitting out during the last play of a playoff game in which Toni Kukoc took the last shot.
Grant, who starts talking at the 2:08 mark of the video, took issue with Jordan calling Pippen “selfish” for not getting his back issue addressed right away prior to the start of the 1997-98 season:
“It was straight-up bulls**t,” said Grant. “It was straight-up bulls**t how they portrayed Scottie. I mean, in terms of being the No. 2 on that team and how he came out in terms of — against Utah — he could barely walk, getting knocked on the floor, the whole nine yards. For that documentary — for MJ to call him selfish — that's straight-up BS. If it wasn't for Scottie Pippen, there would be no six championships.”
Grant took this opportunity to vent on Jordan being a “snitch,” something he had already addressed the very day after the season finale of “The Last Dance” aired on Sunday, May 17.
The former Bulls forward revisited one of the earlier The Last Dance episodes in which Jordan recalls opening the door of one of his teammates' hotel room and seeing players doing lines of cocaine, marijuana, and having women over during his rookie season. While Jordan didn't name any names, he said he preferred to stay away from distractions and chose to not mingle with teammates on the road.
Grant took issue with this, even though Jordan didn't name any names. Jordan calling out Grant for “snitching” on the 1992 book “The Jordan Rules” and tearing Pippen for how he dealt with his injury and contract could be upsetting for Grant, who admittedly hasn't talked to Jordan for about three years.
