So far this season, NBA fans have learned a great deal about Chicago Bulls rookie Lauri Markkanen. They know that the former Arizona Wildcat can definitely knock down three-pointers. They know that Markkanen has some serious hops. Apart from those, Bulls fan have also learned that other NBA coaches are falling head over heels for the 20-year-old Finnish.
Recently, Markkanen gave another tidbit of trivia that some other fans may not know about him: he loves Borat – so much. In fact, he said that Sacha Baron Cohen’s mockumentary is among his favorite pictures of all-time.
If you know me you know one of my favorite movies ever is Borat, so we had some fun at the @Ringer a few months back going over some of my favorite lines from the movie 😂 pic.twitter.com/h2mncfcRjn

This is not exactly fresh news, as some of Markkanen’s college teammates down in Arizona have talked about his fondness of this hilarious flick back in February, per Dionysis Aravantinos of Eurohoops.net.
But his true love is “Borat”! Especially in his days in Arizona, “Borat” had been one of the jokes in the team’s locker room.
“He is a big fan of the movie “Borat”. Many times, throughout the season he was impersonating Borat and his funny accent, and that turned out to be one of our main jokes in the locker room. All of a sudden, the whole team was talking about Borat and the funny scenes from the movie”, Dusan Ristic, his teammate in the University of Arizona, remembers.
Despite the movie’s offensive nature, Borat managed to garner high praises and reviews, which is something Chicago will never get from basketball observers this season, as Lauri Markkanen and the Bulls are currently winding down an utterly miserable 2017-18 campaign.
