Count Chicago Bulls head coach Jim Boylen as someone who is happy for Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose.

After Derrick Rose finished with 24 points and eight assists against his former team on Wednesday, Boylen spoke with reporters postgame about how great of a teammate Rose is and how thrilled he is to see the former MVP play at a high level again.

Boylen was an assistant coach with the Bulls during Rose's last year in Chicago, so he knows first-hand what kind of teammate and person the 30-year-old Chicago native is.

Rose is having his best statistical season this year since the 2011-12 season. The former No. 1 overall pick is averaging 18.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game and shooting 48.9 percent from the field, an efficient 45.5 percent from beyond the arc and 84.4 percent from the free-throw line.

Boylen and the Bulls got blown out by the Timberwolves on Wednesday, losing 119-94. However, that didn't stop the 53-year-old from praising Derrick Rose for his performance and the overall season he's having for the Timberwolves.

Pretty much everyone in the NBA is happy for D-Rose. This is a guy who has undergone four knee surgeries after becoming the youngest MVP in NBA history back in 2011. You root for a guy like him to bounce back and prove the doubters wrong, and that's exactly what Derrick Rose is doing this year.
