Lately, NBA players have weighed in on the violent situation in Minneapolis, Minnesota. One of those making a blatant statement is Cleveland Cavaliers guard Larry Nance Jr.
On Monday, Nance went viral by donning a shirt that reads “all my homes hate ICE”, a sharp rebuke of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), before the Cavs game against the Orlando Magic.
It was also reposted on Blue Sky by Harrison Faigen of SB Nation.

Inevitably, a flurry of reactions came down the pike on Blue Sky.
“I don’t know who he is, but I got the Mighty Ducks reference! Slay, Larry!” @atlasboy97.bsky.social said on Blue Sky.
Another user cited Nance's previous charitable work when he was playing for the New Orleans Pelicans.
“Larry Nance Jr is a real one. When he was playing for the New Orleans Pelicans, he gave a lot of supplies to schools in the area — he bought so much stuff, Amazon thought his account was hacked.”
Someone else reposted a tweet by Nance on X that included a quote from Anne Frank.
“my man.”@dantehicks37.bsky.social said on Blue Sky.
my man.
Nance played six minutes as the Cavs defeated the Magic 114-98.
How NBA players and coaches are responding to Minneapolis
After the ICE killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, various NBA players and coaches have weighed in.
Due to the protests, the Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors postponed their scheduled game last Saturday and played on Sunday. It was then that Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse who worked with veterans, was killed by ICE.
Afterward, Steve Kerr called out ICE, and Steph Curry supported the protests. Ultimately, the NBA Players' Association released an official statement saying that players “can no longer remain silent.”
Nance's teammate, Donovan Mitchell, pleaded for humanity in light of the situation.
In recent years, the NBA has become an outspoken league on political and social issues.
