The L.A. Clippers will face the Houston Rockets for the first time this season on Friday night, but it will not feature All-Star point guard Chris Paul due to a leg injury.
Prior to the contest, Clippers All-Star center DeAndre Jordan discussed his relationship with Paul since he traded over the offseason while also providing his former teammate a personal message, according to Mark Berman of Fox (KRIV).
DeAndre Jordan (@DeAndre) on Chris Paul (@CP3): "We still got that bond and that friendship. I wish he was playing." (Would he like to block Chris' shot?) "Hell yeah, why wouldn't I? I never got a chance to do that in practice." pic.twitter.com/ajEEZhmHMH

It's clear that there are no hard feelings toward Paul stemming from Jordan about him leaving the team given that the two talk daily. There is an obvious strong friendship between them that extends far off the court that triumphs any hard feelings toward the move.
However, there is a competitive nature from Jordan to want to get the best of his close friend on the court by swatting his shot. This could make the teams next meeting this season on Jan. 15 at Staples Center that much entertaining to watch that will surely have a huge range of emotions involved on both sides.
Although Paul won't be on the court, there will be some sort of dialogue between them after the game, but it's unclear if that will extend to any other members of the team or coaching staff. For the time being, it only adds another layer to this situation moving forward.
