Believe the hype. Dallas Mavs super rookie Luka Doncic is for real.

In just his second NBA game, the Slovenian superstar became the youngest Mavericks player ever to score 25 points in a game, according to Bobby Karalla of Mavs.com.

Doncic accomplished the feat at 19 years and 234 days, which is 113 days faster than his teammate, Dennis Smith Jr., who was the previous record holder. Doncic had a massive home debut for the Mavericks in their high-scoring 140-136 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. He finished the game with 26 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists on 8-of-16 shooting from the field. He also made four three-pointers after hitting none in his first game against the Phoenix Suns.

With his stat line for the night, Doncic also became the second youngest player ever to record 25-plus points, 5-plus rebounds, and 3-plus assists in one of his first two games, according to EuroHoops. The youngest is LeBron James.

Smith Jr., on the other hand, nailed an and-one, step-back shot over Derrick Rose in the closing moments to seal the win for the Mavericks. He tallied 19 points, 3 rebounds, and 6 assists on the night.

The Slovenian Wonder Boy has quickly turned around his sub-par NBA debut where he shot just 5-of-16 from the field and finished with just 10 points. He did, however, grab eight rebounds and dish out four assists, so it wasn't a stat-sheet dud.

Doncic is one of the most versatile and NBA-ready rookies to enter the league, so we should expect more of what he displayed in his home debut throughout the rest of the long season. Enjoy the ride, Mavs fans.
