It's not always easy being a rookie in the NBA, but don't tell that to Dallas Mavericks rising star Luka Doncic. After all, it appears that the Mavs rookie does not back down from a challenge. Don't believe me? Well, just ask a certain Los Angeles Lakers forward named LeBron James.

During the matchup between the two teams on Friday night, Doncic decided that instead of simply blocking James once, he'd block him twice.

But not just twice in the game — twice in the same possession.

Something tells me Luka Doncic may not be getting a Christmas card from LeBron James this year.

The Mavs jumped out to an early 10-point lead at the end of the first quarter, but it's clear that the story in the game is Doncic's decision to challenge the Lakers star in the second meeting between the two teams this season.

Los Angeles captured a 114-113 victory over the Mavs on Halloween after LeBron James sank the game-winning free throw with 2.1 seconds left.

The Lakers currently sit in the seventh spot in the Western Conference while the Mavs are a game back in eighth. The two teams will meet again in Dallas in early January.

If you're not currently watching the game, you may want to tune in just to see if Luka Doncic chooses to try to set an NBA record for most blocked shots against a single player in one game.

LeBron James definitely wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of that historical achievement.
