Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone and his staff earned the right to coach Team LeBron in the 2019 NBA All-Star game in a few weeks. With the news, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James took to Twitter to show some love to his new All-Star coach:

Malone earned the right to coach in the All-Star Game after the Denver Nuggets took home a slim 107-106 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. He edged out Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr for the gig, given that the Nuggets have a better record than the Warriors do against Western Conference teams.
This will be the first time that Malone will be coaching in the All-Star Game, and it took him only five seasons to do it. Malone began his head coaching career in 2013 when he signed with the Sacramento Kings. Things didn't go so smooth in Sactown, as he was fired just 24 games into his second year with the Kings.
He has obviously enjoyed much more success with Denver, as the team currently sits atop the Western Conference standings with the defending champion Warriors, with both teams sporting similar 37-15 records.
Following the game against Minnesota, the Nuggets, led by All-Star big man Nikola Jokic, doused their coach with a locker room bath to celebrate Malone's huge accomplishment. Jokic will accompany Malone to Charlotte, as the Serbian big man earned his first and well-deserved All-Star selection.
James, on the other hand, is a common presence during All-Star Weekend's main event showdown and will be entering his 15th consecutive All-Star Game. This will also be the second time that the best player in the world will be the captain of one of the All-Star squads.
James, however, will have a tough task of choosing his roster from a pool of 24 players — and he'll have to do it on live TV.
