On Wednesday, the NBA was forced to postpone the Miami Heat vs. San Antonio Spurs game. All told, the league has been forced to postpone 11 games to date.
The Denver Nuggets have been dealing with a massive amount of injuries to begin with. Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. have both been ruled out for the season. Murray suffered a knee injury; meanwhile, Porter Jr. sustained a back injury that cost him the rest of the year.
On Christmas Eve, the Nuggets then ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
More recently, Austin Rivers, Aaron Gordon and Monte Morris were ruled out with various injuries. Then Jeff Green, Zeke Nnaji and Nah'Shon Hyland were placed into the league's health and safety protocols. That has left Denver without enough players to compete.

Golden State forward Draymond Green was latest player on the Warriors to also enter the health and safety protocol list. With the omicron variant running rampant throughout the league, games are constantly in flux. There has been a lot of confusion as to how and when games are being postponed, including some perceived criticism from Atlanta Hawks superstar Trae Young.
The league announced new COVID-19 protocols. Now, a player can return to the team after just six days after testing positive. However, they need to be asymptomatic and not contagious.
