Through much of the Golden State Warriors‘ championship playoff run, the health of head coach Steve Kerr was a prevalent storyline surrounding the team.
During a recent interview with Zach Lowe of ESPN, Kerr addressed the looming questions regarding his long-term future with the Warriors.

Kerr sounds quite confident that he can get past his lingering back pain from the surgery he underwent more than a year ago. Following Game 2 of the first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers, he was sidelined until he made his triumphant return to the bench for Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
The time off seemed to help the 51-year-old significantly as he had no issues with his health moving forward in the Finals coaching the final four games of the series. This, along with the Warriors winning their second NBA title in the last three years, shouldn't come as a surprise to hear that Kerr wants to remain with the team long-term.
Golden State has in place a roster that can compete for several more championships if they stay together. Kerr has also been an important part in helping create the team culture and playing style that the Warriors has had a tremendous amount of success using over the last few seasons.
On top of that, Warriors general manager Bob Myers has already voiced much confidence that the two-time NBA champion head coach will be back at least another year. All in all, this is will ultimately hinge on how Kerr's back responds over the summer heading into next season.
