Golden State Warriors small forward Andre Iguodala knows there are pundits who say he's overpaid, but the versatile swingman doesn't care because he believes there’s no such thing as being overpaid.

Iguodala signed a three-year, $48 million contract with the Warriors back in 2017 to stay with the Dubs. He made $16 million this season, but only averaged 5.7 points per game during the regular season.

Everyone who follows the Warriors, though, knows Iguodala is more valuable to the team once the playoffs start and he's proving that yet again. Iggy is putting up 11.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists in the 2019 postseason. He opened up about his contract and talked about how the market sets everything for NBA players.

“Years ago, I was talking to a friend,” Iguodala told Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “He was on Twitter, talking about overpaid. I was explaining to him that there’s no such thing as being overpaid. I don’t care who you are. I’m talking about any of the bad contracts in league history. Your market is your market.

“There’s no such thing as being underpaid either. The powers that be set the market for you. You may be better than someone that’s paid more than you are, but that year in negotiations, salary cap, (basketball-related income) that season, influx of all the money from the TV deal. All that weighs into it. You gotta know your market at that particular time.

“I don’t think about it like I’m proving anyone wrong.”
