The Golden State Warriors, who have dominated the NBA over the last five years, will enter the season shorthanded and weaker in firepower. But Draymond Green isn't lowering his expectations amid these realities for the 2019-20 season.

Green admits that it feels different entering the season with some of their core players gone. But this doesn't mean that they have to soften their forecast for the brand new season. They are still a contending team. And winning is what they're all about.

“It’s definitely a different vibe. Everything is just different,” he said, per Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle. “But as far as lowering expectations, you’re still an NBA player. These guys are still NBA players. We’re still an NBA team. As a competitor and leader, I don’t think you lower your expectations. That’s kind of what a loser does.

He is also aware that the Warriors will have new guys on the team. And as one of the squad's leaders, he's out there to welcome and teach that winning mentality that has made the Warriors successful.

“I think you just have a better understanding and a longer leash. You can’t just snap on a guy. You have to teach. I think it’s more that approach. …

“You’re taking it more day by day and growing day by day, as opposed to managing day by day. But, as a competitor, I don’t think you lower your expectations. Still shoot for the skies.”

Indeed, it'll be a different NBA with the relatively new-look Warriors. But Green is still in the team which means that they are still going to be competitive and intense as ever.
