The Golden State Warriors are heading to their fifth straight NBA Finals appearance after sweeping the Portland Trail Blazers in their Western Conference Finals series.

Golden State trailed for the most part of Game 4, but they stormed back in the fourth quarter to force an overtime and close out the series. They edged the Blazers 119-117.

The game was knotted at 111 apiece at the end of regulation. And come the overtime period, it was decided by a final play drawn up by Blazers head coach Terry Stotts.

The play featured Damian Lillard — their best player and closer — who heaved up a fadeaway 3-pointer over the outstretched arms of Klay Thompson. The shot missed, though it could've won the game for the Blazers and extended the series.

With the win, the Warriors have booked their fifth consecutive ticket to the NBA Finals and are a series away from claiming their third straight championship.

Stephen Curry notched a triple-double of 37 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists. He was 11-of-25 from the field and 7-of-16 from downtown. Draymond Green also logged in a triple-double with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists to go along with three steals and two blocks.

The Trail Blazers, meanwhile, got a surprise contribution from Meyers Leonard. The 27-year-old dropped a double-double with 30 points and 11 rebounds. He also hit 5-of-8 from downtown which contributed to the Blazers' biggest lead of 17 points. Lillard and CJ McCollum had 28 and 26 points, respectively.

The Warriors were the heavy favorites to win the series. It did not bother critics that the Dubs were going to miss the services of Kevin Durant — their leading scorer.

For the Blazers, it seems that they have to go back to the drawing board. Though they've always performed well in the regular season in the last several years, come the postseason, they can't seem to find a way to win over tougher foes.

The Warriors will either face the Toronto Raptors or the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals.
