Amid all the celebration surrounding the Golden State Warriors' championship run, there's a big elephant in the room: their payroll situation. Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins are due to earn a new contract extension soon. With the way the two young guns played, they will likely command more money in the offseason.
Naturally, Jordan Poole was asked about his contract situation during a media appearance. The Warriors star deflected the question in many ways. He first said that he doesn't exactly think about that yet. When pressed further, though, Poole said he doesn't know anything about finances. (via Kylen Mills)
JORDAN POOLE EXTENSION: Poole is asked about if he expects to be offered an extension by the Warriors, if he will âget a bagâ. He says he hasnât thought about it, deflects a follow up & says he doesnât know about finances he only spent 2 years in school. #dubnation #goldblooded

Leave it to Poole to be effortlessly hilarious even when he's avoiding a big question. To be fair, though, the Warriors star is definitely lying about one part of his statement. His post-championship IG Live with Wiggins shows that he's at least thought about it once.

Poole's monster play in the playoffs has been a major part of the Warriors' championship run. His scoring off the bench helped the team survive the minutes when Stephen Curry was resting on the bench. With him on the team, the Warriors are guaranteed to always have one capable playmaker at all times.
Poole's contract expires at the end of the 2022 â 23 season. After that, the Warriors star is set to become a restricted free agent. The Dubs will definitely want to keep most, if not all, of their winning core on the team. The only question is: how much will that cost Joe Lacob and the front office?
