Durant led the Warriors to a Game 3 victory in the NBA Finals. He finished with 43 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists. He picked up the slack from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, who scored just 11 points and 10 points, respectively. Curry shot just 1-of-10 from downtown. For his part, Thompson was just 4-of-11 from the field.

They seemed to have figured out how to contain Curry and Thompson. With the Splash Brothers struggling, the Warriors looked to Durant to torch the Cavaliers via one-on-one match-ups.
As observed, when Durant was matched-up against smaller guards, he easily rose up to his jump shot and knocked it down with relative ease.
Thanks to Durant's performance, the Warriors are just one win away from repeating as champions. If they do, they'll claim their third ring in four years. For Durant, it will be his second title.
But knowing Durant, it's not really the number of rings he's after. It's about making his mother proud. His mom became a worldwide figure in his MVP speech in 2014, via CBS News:
“You made us believe,” Durant said to his mother. “Kept us off the street. Put clothes on our backs, food on the table. When you didn't eat, you made sure we ate. You sacrificed for us. You're the real MVP.”
