Now in his third season with the Golden State Warriors, All-Star forward Kevin Durant has a unique opportunity of going three-for-three in terms of championships earned during his tenure with the Dubs.
Durant has unquestionably been instrumental in Golden State's three-peat-seeking quest, and regardless of how things turn out in the summer, he will still be considered one of the greatest to ever dawn the colors of the Warriors.
That being said, Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated recently asked the 30-year-old about the possibility of the Warriors retiring his No. 35 jersey once he calls it a career. Durant answered honestly and admitted that this would be an absolute honor for him:

“Most definitely,” Durant said. “If you put a Durant ‘35’ jersey in any NBA arena coming from where I come from … that is why that stuff is important to me, because my family name will be here after I am dead. To have that hanging in the arena with one of the best franchises in sports, hell, yeah, that’s a goal.”
There is no doubt that when the time comes, Durant will be considered as not only one of the best Warriors players ever, but in the whole history of the sport as well. However, the question is whether or not the Dubs organization will consider his contributions to the franchise as jersey-retiring worthy.
Durant could very well walk away from Golden State this summer, and how things turn out in the next couple of months will definitely have a tremendous impact on his legacy as a Warrior.
