The Golden State Warriors are still the favorites to win the title this season. While their fan base has grown over the past several years, it does not mean that they are the most popular team in the league.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle's Eric Ting, a recent survey from ZCodeSystem revealed that the Warriors are the most-hated team in the league by state. Based on the map, the Warriors have a lot of haters in 26 states.

In fact, the defending champions are also the least-favorite team in their own state – California. The report pointed out, though, that the results are not surprising, considering the fact that fans of their California rivals – Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, and L.A. Clippers – have Golden State on top of their list of villains.

The Warriors have turned heads over the past several years, winning three NBA titles in the last four seasons. Most fans also made it no secret that they hate the Warriors because of their recent moves.

After losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals, the already-loaded Warriors signed Kevin Durant. The former Oklahoma City Thunder star helped the Warriors win two-straight NBA titles.

And after winning back-to-back titles, the Warriors did not rest on their laurels. Golden State made headlines anew after they successfully signed All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins.

Cousins agreed to a one-year, $5.3 million contract with Golden State, which is considered too low based on his status as one of the top centers in the league. His arrival would give the Warriors a starting lineup composed of five All-Stars late in the season barring any other injuries.

Meanwhile, the Lakers finished second to the Dubs. They are the most-disliked team in 19 states. It is unclear, though, whether or not the arrival of LeBron James had something to do with the hate they received in the survey. The Boston Celtics ended up third, as they were tagged as the most-hated team in four states.
