The Golden State Warriors reportedly suspended power forward Jordan Bell because he charged something to assistant coach Mike Brown's hotel room without Brown knowing.
The prevailing thought was Bell violated Brown and the Warriors' trust.
However, it looks like it was just a team prank gone wrong. The following is part of a thread about what supposedly happened, which Bell himself retweeted:
So, as all teams do IN EVERY PROFESSIONAL SPORT, the vets mess with the rookies because it’s just a “rite of passage” to say the least. So what had happened was last year, when he was a rookie, his teammates would put LITTLE THINGS on his room, candy bars, sodas, etc etc

On their last trip HE CHARGED A CANDLE(NOT porn, you heathens) to Mike Brown’s room. A $15 CANDLE!!!!!! to his room & obvs Mike Brown wasn’t in on the joke, so he got his feelings hurt & thought he had been paying for stuff the whole time. Smh

One of the All Stars on the team tried to tell Mike Brown it was just a joke & they’d pay for it but the team didn’t think it was funny, so that’s why. A candle. Not porn. Sorry y’all had so much fun with #Porngate but that’s not what happened.

The Warriors are just like any other team. They like to have fun behind the scenes during a long, 82-game season.
Unfortunately for Jordan Bell, Mike Brown wasn't in on the team joke and he suffered for it. The youngster had to forfeit $9,505 as part of his suspension.
In 61 games this season for the Warriors, Bell is averaging just 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest while shooting 52.6 percent from the field. He's not needed as much this season since the Dubs have DeMarcus Cousins on the roster.
Golden State also just recently added Andrew Bogut as well.
The Warriors have the best record in the Western Conference at 51-23. They defeated the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday without Bell. Head coach Steve Kerr didn't elaborate too much on the Bell situation other than the team was handling it internally.
