The Golden State Warriors are also filled with uncertainty with their decision regarding the No. 2 overall pick ahead of the 2020 NBA Draft. Memphis center James Wiseman has been previously linked to the Warriors but another prospect in LaMelo Ball recently emerged to be a viable option for the team as well.

“While Wiseman has long looked like the safest pick and best positional fit here, he no longer appears to be a lock for Golden State after Ball conducted an impressive workout in front of key members of the Warriors' ownership group, front office and coaching staff. Ball's talent presents the possibility for special long-term upside, while Wiseman might be better equipped to immediately help the franchise return to the NBA Finals.”

“The Warriors have continued to do their due diligence by traveling to watch Anthony Edwards work out for a second time in recent days after an initially underwhelming first viewing.”

The youngest Ball brother was previously seen by many as an odd fit with the Warriors due to his playing position which is the identical with their lead guard in Stephen Curry and he might even share touches with shooting guard Klay Thompson on the floor. However, that initial perception may have already changed by way of an impressive workout in front of the team's decision-makers.

Drafting LaMelo Ball will give the Warriors a safety net in the event that Curry and/or Thompson suffers another devastating injury in the future. The two players aren't getting any younger as well as they are headed to their 30s already. Ball's length in the point guard position along with his playmaking skills and shot-making abilities poise him to be a promising torch-bearer for the Dubs moving forward.
