The hate for Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant was real after a rousing 43-point performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Perhaps it got too real.

Durant had to be held back from hecklers at the team hotel, who went relentlessly after him, yelling all sorts of nonsense from a distance.

Among those, one heckler yelled “KD, UT's butt” — likely a reference to the University of Texas, which he attended for one season before declaring for the NBA Draft.

Durant might have played for Texas for only one year, but he's made consistent contributions to the school and the basketball program, donating millions of dollars to further advance their facilities and scholastic programs.

The same heckler continued “KD, where LeBron at? KD, LeBron, he gonna jam on you.”

The 2017 Finals MVP hasn't been short of hecklers throughout his career, but this Game 3 might just elevate him past LeBron James, now bound to be 2-1 in NBA Finals after losing his first time around against James' Miami Heat during his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2012.

With potentially only one game left in the NBA Finals, but it happening in Cleveland, Cavaliers should have at least one more chance to heckle Kevin Durant.

Silver lining.
