Golden State Warriors All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson had an extremely efficient game on Wednesday as he missed only two shots and went 11-of-13 from the field overall against the San Antonio Spurs.

However, one of his two missed field goals turned out to be a memorable/forgettable one, with Thompson's dunk attempt being blocked by the rim.

To be fair to Thompson, it was not as if he had a completely clear path to the basket. San Antonio Spurs big man Jakob Poeltl met the Dubs star at the rim and actually almost blocked Thompson's dunk attempt. It would have been a glorious jam had it gone in, but unfortunately for Klay, this play will likely end up in Shaqtin' a Fool.

We can definitely let Thompson off the hook for this foiled dunk attempt, especially considering how he led his team to an easy victory against the Spurs, 141-102. The 28-year-old guard recorded a game-high 26 points, four three-pointers, one rebound, six assists, two steals, and a block against San Antonio.

The Spurs were without their top two guys in this one, with head coach Gregg Popovich opting to rest both DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge in the matchup against the defending champs. Surely, this is Pop playing his mind games again.

Thompson and the Warriors have now amazingly won 14 out of their last 15 games, and have improved to a 38-15 record. They have successfully created some breathing room at the top of the Western Conference, with the second-seeded Denver Nuggets now a game and a half behind.
