After losing to the Washington Wizards in a 121-103 blowout on Wednesday, New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis openly admitted that he was mentally and physically fatigued from the Knicks' series of games.

According to the New York Post, Porzingis implied that the grind of the Knicks' recent schedule has taken a toll on his mental and physical health.

“I'm tired; I'm tired; I'm so tired right now. I have one day to rest my legs and get back and play better and have more energy and try to bring the team's energy up. We're in a tough stretch. The mental part doesn't help at all. When it's mentally tough, you don't have it in you.”

The Knicks are indeed in their worst stretch of the season, losing six of their last seven games. Porzingis' fatigue even showed in their recent loss to the Wizards, as he only scored two of his 16 points in the second half of the game. Although Porzingis is visibly tired, the Knicks are arguably in their most important stretch of their season. The Knicks are one game behind the eighth-place Indiana Pacers, who are on a five-game losing streak.

With the All-Star break approaching, the Knicks are in a good position to sneak into the NBA playoffs for the first time since the 2012-2013 season. All in all, Porzingis has played brilliantly for the Knicks. He is currently averaging 23.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. Even in fatigue, if his stellar play continues, the Knicks will still have a good chance at stealing the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.
