In spite of Kristaps Porzingis' forgettable night, the New York Knicks still pulled off a huge upset over the conference-leading Boston Celtics, thanks to Michael Beasley using more than 10 percent of his brain. Beasley went off for 32 points and 12 rebounds to lift the Knicks and earn MVP chants from the Madison Square Garden crowd.

Meanwhile, Porzingis failed to knock down a single shot in his 11 attempts on the floor. It was, by far, the worst performance of his breakout season. The goose egg didn't prove to be bad enough to dampen his spirit, though.

In speaking with reporters after the game, the Latvian unicorn had no problems poking fun at himself for his woeful shooting.

“Thanks to me, the game was close.” Porzingis noted. “I kept it close. Otherwise we should've won by a bigger difference if I had a better game.”

Even the best have their off nights so this shouldn't put a dent on Kristaps Porzingis' confidence. In fact, it should even motivate him knowing that there are players on the Knicks' roster who are capable of delivering ample support.

If Porzingis is the mayor of New York for some, he seems to already have his fancy on a deputy mayor.

“Michael Beasley had my back tonight.”
