During the second quarter of Tuesday night's game between the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks, the NBA world collectively held its breath when Knicks All-Star power forward Kristaps Porzingis writhed on the floor in pain after he suffered what appeared to be a serious left knee injury.

With the Knicks trailing the Bucks 30-29 early in the second quarter, Porzingis got a pass in the paint and threw down a ferocious one-handed slam dunk over Milwaukee star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. After he finished the dunk, he came down awkwardly on his left leg and immediately collapsed to the court while holding his knee.

Shortly after Porzingis had to be assisted to the team's locker room, Knicks beat reporter Ian Begley tweeted the star forward was described as “OK” and was taken to a local hospital for an MRI to see what the severity of the injury is.

Also, an encouraging video that will help Knicks fans breathe just a little bit easier was posted on Twitter by user Ryan Berger that showed Porzingis waving down the hallway as he exited Madison Square Garden.

In just 11 minutes of action, Porzingis was having himself quite a good game until his shocking injury. On the night, Porzingis finished the game with 10 points on 4-fo-5 shooting to go along with three blocked shots and two rebounds.

Unfortunately for New York, this nightmare of a scenario seemed to only get worse as Antetokounmpo and the Bucks kept the Knicks at bay for most of the second half. With their 103-89 home loss to the Bucks, the Knicks (23-32) dropped their fourth straight game and fell to a season-low nine games under .500.
