New York City newspapers love their puns. Unsurprisingly, they simply couldn’t help themselves with their use of the eminently pun-able “Ball” name in their headlines for the Knicks' win over Lonzo Ball and the Los Angeles Lakers at Madison Square Garden.

Despite Lonzo and the Lakers losing to the “ball-busting” Knicks, LaVar Ball seemed to have a blast at MSG, as he was embracing fans and dapping up Knicks superfan Spike Lee.

Between the Balls’ trip to NYC and the news that LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball will be headed to Lithuania to play professional basketball, the Big Baller Brand family has been seemingly inescapable in the news recently. You might say they’re “Ball over the place,” pun very much intended.

As for the Knicks, they're finally starting to make headlines for the right reasons after a recent poor run of form which saw them lose six times in an eight-game stretch.

Kristaps Porzingis' play, in particular, has been especially promising. He's now had back-to-back 30-point outings, including the ultimate “ball-busting” 37-point performance against the Lakers.

With the Balls finally out of town, the Knicks can hopefully fill those back pages with more positive pun-tastic headlines in the coming weeks.
